The book is published in a series describing the history of photography Kolobrzeg.

Its source is the previously released albums of the year 1999 i 2003 including postcards and photographs of the city, which then belonged to Germany and was called Kolberg. Is enriched by more than 200 new photos. All relate to the times coming within two important dates in the history of the city:
– years 1872, when the German emperor issued a decree abolished the fortress of Colberg, which consequently led to extremely rapid flourishing resort,
– years 1945, when at the end of World War II once again became a fortress - Festung Kolberg.

Then issued an order to defend the city to the last soldier was equivalent to condemning him to death. And so it happened. As a result of fighting in March 1945 were followed by only ruins and ashes. German Kolberg ceased to exist. History has written a new card - Polish Kolobrzeg.

Book, although it applies to the German city, considers the theme of Polish, hence the title of one of the chapters in Our Kolbergu. It reminds, that the Poles were associated with him for a long time, Also at the turn of the century. If they lived here almost a half thousand. A large group of young men were also of the Prussian, held a soldier serving in a foreign army uniforms. Each summer, arrived to the resort, thousands of our compatriots from all Partitions, to heal the health, relax and enjoy the coastal charm. Once started the Second World War, appeared in the Polish soldiers - prisoners of war and Polish forced laborers, or simply slaves, used for the war economy of the Third Reich.

The first chapters of the book contains illustrations of the nineteenth-century resort and a brief history of postcards, which - as a communications relay and image - it gives a wonderful and a real turn of the century photograph of the city. Later in the show were the most beautiful places spas, and port, houses and streets, Churches, monuments, Hotels, amnesty, cafes and restaurants, and various curiosities and sights. The book ends with information on the war in March 1945 year and the memories of the takeover by the Polish authorities Kolbergu. Added on Kolobrzeg are extracts from encyclopaedias and dictionaries published in the nineteenth and early twentieth, and in the years 30. Second Republic, and the calendar years 1801-1945.
